In this briefing note, some of the key elements of the food crisis note are:
345 million people facing acute food insecurity in 82 countries;
1.8 million more people could be in extreme poverty on the African continent by 2022
92.9% of low-income economies, 92.7% of lower-middle-income economies and 89% of upper-middle-income economies had inflation rates above 5%.
Of the 34 ships that left Ukraine's ports under the grain deal, only one ship was bound for Africa.
